1. Who we are
This service is operated by CERTIFIED AI FREE ("CERTIFIED AI FREE", "we", "us"), trading as AI FREE. By using this website, the application platform or any certificate issued through it, you are entering into an agreement with CERTIFIED AI FREE. Questions about these terms can be sent through the contact page.
2. Acceptance
By accessing or continuing to use the service you accept these terms. If you are acting for an organisation, you confirm you have authority to bind it. If you are acting for yourself, you confirm you are of legal age in your country.
3. The service
CERTIFIED AI FREE reviews declarations and evidence about human authorship and AI involvement in a work, and may issue a certificate and seal describing the result of that review at a point in time. A certificate is an assessment based on the information supplied by the applicant; it is not a guarantee, warranty or forensic proof about the work, and it does not transfer any rights in the work.
4. Your account and the information you give us
You must provide accurate, complete and current information and keep it updated. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Providing false declarations or falsified evidence is grounds for rejection, suspension or revocation of a certificate.
5. Acceptable use
You must not use the service unlawfully; commit fraud or send spam; infringe intellectual property or privacy rights; interfere with security (malware, probing, scraping, circumventing technical limits); reverse engineer or resell the service; or display a seal for a work that is not covered by a valid certificate, or after a certificate has expired, been suspended or revoked.
6. Intellectual property and licence
CERTIFIED AI FREE owns the platform, the standard, the seals and its brand. While your certificate is valid you receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to display the corresponding seal for the certified work, in line with the seal and trademark usage policy. You keep all rights in your own work and in the content you upload, and you grant us a limited licence to host and process that content solely to deliver the service.
7. Service level and warranties
The service is provided on an "as is" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and to the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
8. Payments, billing and tax
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by the Paddle Checkout Buyer Terms at https://www.paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms. Certification review fees are charged before an application is sent for review. Annual renewal is billed as a recurring subscription until cancelled.
9. Refunds
Refunds are described in our Refund Policy. Where a payment is refunded or charged back, any certificate issued in connection with that payment may be revoked and its public record updated accordingly.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access, and suspend or revoke a certificate, in case of material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, false declarations, or repeated or serious policy violations. Public certificate records show status changes with a public reason.
11. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim, and we exclude indirect, consequential or special damages including loss of profits, data or goodwill. Nothing excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow it. You indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use or your breach of these terms.
12. Changes, law and contact
We may update these terms; each version is published with a version number and effective date. Continued use after an update means acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where CERTIFIED AI FREE is established, and disputes are subject to its courts. You may not assign this agreement without our consent; we may assign it in a merger or acquisition. Neither party is liable for events beyond its reasonable control.
This document is published in the registry with version control. Every acceptance records the exact version accepted.
